Eunice Kathleen Waymon born February 21, 1933 and better known by her stage name Nina Simone, was a fifteen-time Grammy Award nominated american singer, songwriter, pianist, arranger and civil rights activist.

Simone is generally classified as a jazz musician. She personally preferred the term "Black Classical Music".

Sometimes known as the "High Priestess of Soul", she paid great attention to the musical expression of emotions. Simone recorded over 40 live and studio albums.

She passed away at her villa in Carry-le-Rouet, France

One of my greatest regrets is not to have met the great lady in person, while she was living in the south of France not so far from my home, before her demise.

Eunice Kathleen Waymon nee Février 21, 1933 et plus connu sous son nom de scène Nina Simone, était une chanteuse, auteur, pianiste, arrangeur et activiste des droits civils de américaine nommé quinze fois pour le Grammy Awards.

Simone est généralement classé comme un musicien de jazz. Elle a personnellement préféré le terme " Musique Classique Noire".

Parfois connu sous le nom de "la Grande Prêtresse de la Soul", elle accordé une grande attention dans l'expression des émotions. Elle a enregistré plus de 40 albums en direct et en studio.

Un de mes plus grands regrets est de n'avoir pas rencontré la grande dame alors qu'elle vivait dans le sud de la France comme moi, avant sa disparition.
